EDUCATIONAL SPECIALIST ( TUTOR)

Job Description 

Learning & Educational Solutions Inc. (LES ) seeks a Tutor for our ROAD 2 GRADUATION Program. Road 2 Graduation provides academic handholding support to students who are in jeopardy of not graduating. A Tutor will work along side the student support Advocate to support scholars with completing all required work for the school semester or year. The duties consists of: 

  • Helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments.  

  • They prepare plans to help scholar stay on track of their work.

  • Follow up with the classroom teacher to ensure the scholar has completed school work.

  • Help scholars in completing all projects and assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at Minimum a High School Diploma

  • Must be Bilingual / Spanish and English Speaking

  • Experience in tutoring in all subjects

  • Working with diverse backgrounds, working on google classroom.

TRANSFER SPECIALIST 

Job Description  (Responsibilities)

The Transfer Specialist (TS) ( Consultant )Role is to provide alternative educational solutions to scholars that are more conducive to meeting HS graduation requirements. Consultant Works closely with the (ECT) Educational Crisis Team, students and their families, school guidance counselors, and transfer schools. The Consultant contacts and meets with families as well as transfer schools to connect scholars to a more suitable educational setting in order to meet graduation requirements. May do some home visits and escort students to different schools when needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be Bilingual ( Spanish and English )

  • Strong Word and Excel, Google Docs, email correspondence)

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have good time management

  • Strong Case Management Skills

  • able to multi-task

  • Problem-solving

  • Relationship building skills

  • Must work at a fast pace.

  • Work well with students from diverse backgrounds

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent / Some College

Job Description 

Ensures that students who are chronically absent, or frequently absent begin coming to school before 3rd Pd (when attendance is taken), to increase the overall attendance of the school. Each school you are assigned to must reach 90% attendance or higher

The DPS Team (Dropout Preventative Services ) is a part of the LES Educational Crisis Team thatprovides field services to schools, students and families who are in underserved at-risk
communities.

Duties Consist of:

  • Home visits to various NYC locations

  • Home assessments

  • Mandated Reporting

  • Field case management in conjunction with student support specialists

  • Educational re-engagement

  • Field social and emotional support
